Kangwŏn -do is a province in the southeast of North Korea, with its capital Wonsan.

Geography

Kangwŏn -do is the smaller part of the day shared by the Demilitarized Zone earlier Gangwon -do. Gangwon -do is also the name of the south of the DMZ lying province of South Korea. The province also borders Hwanghae- pukto in the West, P'yŏngan - namdo and Hamgyŏng - namdo in the north- west and north and to the east by the Sea of ​​Japan.
