Karl Friedrich August Kahnis

Karl Friedrich August Kahnis ( born December 22, 1814 Greiz ( Vogtland), † June 20, 1888 in Leipzig ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Kahnis studied at the universities of Halle and Berlin. In 1844 he became an associate professor at the University of Breslau.

From 1850 he taught as a successor to Adolf Harless in the chair of dogmatic theology at the University of Leipzig. 1864/65 he was rector of this university. His successor was Theodore Brieger. As a representative of the University of Leipzig from 1857 to 1864 he was a deputy of the First Chamber of the Parliament of Saxony.
