Karl Kreibich

Karl Kreibich ( born May 20, 1869 in Smichow, Bohemia, † December 30, 1932 in Prague) was an Austrian dermatologist and professor.

Life

Kreibich studied at the German - Czech Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague and received his doctorate in 1894 for Dr. med. Dermatology he learned from 1896 in Vienna by Moritz Kaposi, where he habilitated in 1902.

In 1903 he followed the dead of typhoid Adolf Jarisch as associate professor and director of Dermatology, University of Graz. Two years later, she made ​​him the chair holder. In 1906 he moved - again, first as associate professor - to the native Karl- Ferdinand University. As the successor of Filipp Josef Pick since 1908 full professor, he remained even after the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy and the establishment of Czechoslovakia in office. 1923/24, he was rector.

It dealt mainly with the Quincke's edema, the pathogenesis of eczema and the pigment of the skin and brought the chemotherapy in dermatology. The last representative of the famous Vienna Dermatologenschule he died of a heart attack. He was succeeded by Rudolf Bezecny.
