Katapult

Catapult is based on C part of the K Desktop Environment. The program allows quick access to programs, favorites, etc. and can be extended by plugins to arbitrary functions. The presentation is also plugin- based, so far-reaching changes are also possible here.

Under KDE4, it was largely replaced by KRunner.

Use

After starting the catapult window can be accessed by simultaneously pressing the ALT key spacebar. Immediately after the press is on the keyboard the name of an installed application, a favorite, or other object, for which a corresponding catalog plugin is installed, entered. After confirming by entering the displayed object is started or called.

By entering Cont example, the symbol of KDE Kontact program appears in the catapult window. Another example is the input of an arithmetic operation, such as 2 ^ 100, which returns the calculation of the 100th power of 2.

To change the program settings to activate the catapult by ALT spacebar, press CTRL C and select the entry " Catapult Setup ... ". The configuration options include the installation of additional plugins catalog, and various shortcuts and display settings.
