Kate McGarrigle
Kate McGarrigle ( born February 6, 1946 in Montreal, Quebec; † January 18, 2010 ibid ) was a Canadian singer.
She had a music group with her sister Anna and was the mother of Rufus and Martha Wainwright. Their father is McGarrigles ex- husband, musician Loudon Wainwright III. In the summer of 2006 she was diagnosed with cancer and succumbed to the sufferings on 18 January 2010.
