Kelli Ali
Kelli Ali (* June 30, 1974 in Birmingham, England ), formerly known as Kelli Dayton, is an English singer and guitarist.
Career
Ali, then still Dayton, became known through their involvement as the lead singer in the British trip - hop group Sneaker Pimps. After breaking up 6 Underground Becoming X Album made a name especially by the single release, the Sneaker Pimps 1998 decided to continue her career without Dayton. So she started her solo career. Before Sneaker Pimps Dayton was in the hip- hop group Psycho Drama, after which it a few years later The Lumieres joined as a songwriter, singer and lead guitarist. The Lumieres published, among others, the single Cinder hearts.
Under the name Kelli Ali, she chose to honor her father, Michael Ali, she launched her solo career in 2003 with the album Tiger Mouth. With this, they moved from the trip-hop music in the dreampop level. From it include the hits Sunlight in the Rain and Kids, in which The Doors drummer John Densmore participated, emerged.
2003 Ali went with garbage on tour. Their next album, Psychic Cat, she published in 2004. This was musically somewhat back to her rock ' n ' roll roots. During the recordings they support, among others, the former author Tony O'Neill on keyboards.
In April 2006, Ali traveled to Japan to write songs with Hoshino Hidehiko from Buck -Tick and Cube band Juice of Dropz and take. In the same year the producer Paul Oakenfold recorded the song Faster Kill Pussycat with actress Brittany Murphy. On November 24, 2008, she released her third solo album Rocking Horse. It contains more spherical and acoustic components. This album was produced in the first half of 2008 by Max Richter ( Fat Cat Records ) in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
2012 Kelli Ali worked on their new album Band of Angels, whose funding they first launched through crowdfunding on a pledge.
