The Kelowna International Airport is an airport located in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The airport has two cargo and a passenger terminal. The airport has five aircraft stands, 24 check-in desks, 8 gates, 3 baggage carousels. There are 321 short-term and 1900 long-term parking available. The airport is open around the clock.
History
The airport has existed since 1946. 1958 first scheduled flights were offered to Vancouver. An extension of the runway was in 1960, it was expanded and paved at 5350 feet. The airport was expanded again and again due to rising passenger numbers. 2009 put it, the goal of cleared 1.5 million passengers in 2015. For this, the arrival hall for international passengers was expanded and opened in 2012 in a first stage. In addition, the infrastructure was modernized to the airport to ensure a good accessibility.
