Kevin Brooks (writer)

Kevin Brooks ( born March 30, 1959 in Pinhoe near Exeter in Devon, England ) is a British writer and is married to Susan Williams.

Life and work

Kevin Brooks studied in Birmingham and London (B. A. in Cultural Studies, University of Aston, 1983). He earned his money long with odd jobs, among other things as a gas station attendant, as sellers at the London Zoo and as an assistant in a crematorium. He played guitar in a punk rock band and wrote their own songs. Since the overwhelming success of his debut novel, Martyn Pig, he is a freelance writer in Manningtree in Essex County.
