Kevin Walker ( born August 3, 1989 in Örebro ) is a Swedish football players and musicians of Irish descent. The midfielder, who went through several Swedish youth selections, is the son of the coach Patrick Walker and brother of Robert Walker.
Career
Walker began playing football at Varberg BoIS. In 1994 he moved to the youth of Kalmar FF, before he moved on to the youth department of Örebro SK 1998. In 2001, he joined GIF Sundsvall, but returned in 2005 back to Örebro SK. In parallel, he played in the youth teams of the Swedish Football Association.
For Örebro SK Walker made his debut in 2006 in the Superettan and came to two brief appearances as a substitute. At the end of the season he went to the club on in the Allsvenskan. Until August of the following year played four times for the club in the first Swedish League. On 31 August 2007, he moved within the top Swedish league for AIK. At first he was mainly the mediocre playing partners Väsby United to use with which he ascended the end of 2007 in the Superettan. For AIK, he also played on the last two days of the 2007 two missions as a substitute.
2008 Walker began the season at Väsby United and ran for the team to three times in the second division. From the summer of Walker belonged to the Erstligakader AIK and came first again as a substitute for use. In the 0-0 draw against IFK Gothenburg in September, he made his debut in the starting lineup and could look back at the end of the season on season twelve inserts. He was then appointed to the Swedish U- 21 team in early 2009, but did not in two duels against the Belgian junior national team to use. During the Belgienaufenthaltes he retired to a groin infection that forced him to the beginning of the 2009 to pause. In the summer he returned as part of his rehabilitation training briefly returned to full training before the infection broke out again. He therefore turned out the whole season and therefore could not contribute to winning the double of league and cup.
In the first half of the Premiership season 2010 Walker stood in four games for AIK in the square. In parallel, he ran for the farm team Väsby United, for whom he scored two goals in the Superettan. The end of August he signed a loan contract valid until the end of the Assyriska Föreningen. On the side of Magnus Bahne, Stefan Batan and Göran Marklund he should support supervised by former coach Rikard Norling AIK team in the promotion battle, but as a table fourth in the club missed a return to the Allsvenskan. At the end of the loan period, he returned to AIK, where he was part of the squad as a reserve player and was used until August 2011 by coach Andreas Alm irregularly as a substitute. On the last day of the summer transfer window on 31 August, he finally left the club on loan again and joined the second division GIF Sundsvall, with which he rose to the Allsvenskan end of the season. With three goals and five assists, he persuaded the leaders there, after the season he moved permanently to the club from Sundsvall.
In GIF Sundsvall Walker was a regular player at the end of the 2012, he finished with the crew of the riser on the side of Simon Helg, Stefan Ålander, Emil Forsberg and Oscar Berglund only the relegation place. In games against Halmstad BK he stood each in the starting lineup after a 0-3 first leg defeat and a 4-3 second-leg success he rose with the club directly from again.
Music career
Walker took part in the 2013 casting of the Swedish Idol show and was later alongside his running mate Elin Bergman in the final, which he won with his song Belong. The prize is a recording contract with Universal Music Sweden. Immediately after the finals to be winners song debuted in the Swedish charts at # 8. His self-titled album reached # 2 on the album charts. In December 2013 he was on a visit to Ireland in The Late Late Show host of the television station RTÉ.
