Keyserlingk

Keyserling (also Keyserling ) is the name of an old Westphalian noble family, which first appears in records with the councilors Hermann Keselinch on November 16, 1300 in Bielefeld.

History

The direct master series begins with the mayor in Herford Albert Keserlink, documented from 1443 to 1467.

In 1492, his son Hermann Keyserling of fighting in Livonia for the Teutonic Order, for which he enfeoffed Wolter von Plettenberg goods in Courland. Of his four successful in the Prussian, Russian and Saxon State service descendants acquired the earldom in the 18th century. Of these four Counts lines, there are still two, but there are still a baronial line.

Johann Gebhard von Keyserling was Prussian minister and was built in 1744 collected by Frederick II in the Prussian nobility. The Keyserling family granted Immanuel Kant a job at her castle Waldburg- Capustigall and gave him access to higher society of East Prussia. On February 8, 1777, the family received Prussian count conditions.

After 1945, all goods in the Baltic and East Prussia had to be abandoned, since the approximately 180 living scattered from Keyserlingks around the world, mainly in Germany, USA, Canada and Australia.

The root coat of arms shows in silver on green floor a natural palm tree. On the helmet with green and silver blankets are three branches of palm trees.
