Geographical location
The community Kirchham in the southern district of Passau is located at the middle of the creek Kößlarner Pockinger Heath, a fertile plain, which extends to the nearby Inn. The village benefits on the one hand by its favorable location on the B 12, close to the Austrian border, near the Federal Highway 3, but also by the spa tourism since Kirchham is located in the Lower Bavarian spa triangle. After Bad Fussing is 3 km away, to Passau 30 km, to Schärding (Upper Austria ) 20 km, according to Pocking 9 km, to Upper Mountain at Inn (Upper Austria ) 7 km and after Simbach 20 km away.

History
777 is the " place of Chirihheim is called" first mentioned. Kirchham has up to this time back -reaching importance as the center of church and vicarage. The Martin patronal feast of the parish church confirms this historical position as a pastoral center for the surrounding area. The municipality is part Erlbach since around 1500 as a manor detectable, since 1752 was the Hofmark Erlbach. Memorial
- On the former cemetery near the village of Forest City is a memorial to 95 former concentration camp inmates buried here a subcamp of the Mauthausen concentration camp, who were housed in the former barracks and airmen were still died from the effects of his imprisonment here. Road

Railway
From 1910 to 2003 Kirchham was connected with the station tutting in the same district, as well as a track for Rottalblick barracks to the railroad track Simbach - Pocking. In addition, in Kirchham branched off the train track - tutting Kößlarn.
With the increase of private transport, the operation of the two routes proved to be increasingly unprofitable. After 1996, the remaining portion of the route - tutting Kößlarn was abandoned, left only the Bundeswehr transports the red valley barracks that had to be handled at Tuttinger station because the siding to the barracks had already been dismantled.
By resolution of the barracks in 2002 and the remainder route between Pocking and Kirchham lost their last benefit and she was decommissioned on 23 April 2003.
2007 successes of the dismantling and removal of the rail tracks, and it was started with the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle path, the course is oriented to the former Streckentrassierung. Consequently, old Railway structures, such as bridges or embankments were given a new role as part of the newly created border leisure route between Pocking and Kirchham.

Former Bundeswehr location
The community was Kirchham location of the Army of the Bundeswehr. The Rottalblick barracks was built in the early 1960s. There armored units were mostly stationed. The site was abandoned in 2003.
In 1989, when the Iron Curtain fell and the East opened its borders, the barracks served as a refugee and refugee camp for GDR citizens who came via Hungary and Austria to West Germany. Due to the eastern location and close to the Austrian border, the Bundeswehr location was the first stop for many people and was therefore highly frequented.
On the grounds of the former military training area now is a solar park, which was created in collaboration with the municipality of Bad Fussing and the city Pocking.
