Geography

Kirchseeon located in the Munich region in the foothills of the Alps in a glacial moraine on the southern edge of Ebersberg Forst approximately 26 km east of the city of Munich, 7 km north-west of Grafing, 31 km south of Erding, just 7 km from the district town of Ebersberg. A good transport connection is guaranteed by the federal highway 304 and the railway line Munich -Rosenheim, where Kirchseeon has a railway station with S- Bahn train connections. There are about 46 km away and the A99 (junction Hair ) 12 km from Munich Airport.

History

Book is the oldest district of the municipality Kirchseeon, which was already 809 first mentioned. 842 a place called Sevun is first mentioned. The name Chirichsewe first appears in the 14th century. Monastery of Ebersberg entertained in Kirchseeon until the secularization a small branch monastery. The present center church Seeons was 1868, when the railroad was built from Munich to Rosenheim and built a factory to produce the required thresholds in the dense forest between the villages Kirchseeon and Eglharting. The resulting newly formed settlement developed rapidly. When, after a natural disaster in 1889, much of the extensive forests surrounding the feeding of the nuns Butterfly fell victim and not only expands the sleeper factory, but still several private saws were built, the number of inhabitants surpassed that of the other districts. On March 28, 1939, 1818 formed former municipality Eglharting, had been one of the Kirchseeon, renamed the community Kirchseeon. Settlement structure

After the Second World War, by the onset of development, especially with single standing houses the formerly isolated districts Eglharting, Kirchseeon and Kirchseeon village along the main road 304 (Munich -Wasserburg ) to a market with a center in Kirchseeon Station and a lower core in Eglharting merged. In both centers, supermarkets, in the district Kirchseeon there is a large number of small and medium-sized businesses.

Along the B304 and the 4 -track railway line the plots are exposed to traffic noise, in contrast, the peripheral areas are very quiet.

Railway

Through the community Kirchseeon the center runs north the railway line from Munich to Rosenheim. The railway was opened on 15 October 1871 at the same time went the Kirchseeon station in operation. Structures

Along the Koloniestrasse in Kirchseeon is the district of the railroad, also known threshold factory worker settlement, which was built 1905-1906 and consists of seven solitary family houses. The apartment residents of the settlement were each a share garden to feed themselves. The district of the railroad is a historical monument since 2013. The street name goes back to the " colonists " back, lumberjack families who were settled around 1800 from the Bavarian Forest coming in Kirchseeon.
