Kirill Starkov

Kirill Starkov Olegovich (Russian Кирилл Олегович Старков; born March 31, 1987 in Sverdlovsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian- Danish ice hockey player who is under contract with IK Oskarshamn in the HockeyAllsvenskan since 2012. His father Oleg was also a professional hockey player.

Career

Kirill Starkov moved with his family in the early 1990s to Denmark, where his father played professional ice hockey and grew up in Esbjerg. In the junior department of the local ice hockey club EfB Ishockey he also began his career as a hockey player. In the 2002/03 season the winger made ​​his debut for the first team of EfB in the AL -Bank Ligaen, after which he was named Rookie of the Year. He then moved to the youth department of the Frölunda HC from Sweden. With its professional team, he was in season 2005/ 06 runners-up. The 2006/07 season he spent with the Red Deer Rebels in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League. Also in the following years he remained first in North America, where he played for the Youngstown Steel Hounds of the Central Hockey League, the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL and the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Halfway through the 2008/09 season Starkov has been committed by HK CSKA Moscow of the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League. By the end of the season he scored for the Russian capital club in a total of 24 games per two goals and two assists.
