Kirkovo
Kirkowo ( Bulgarian Кирково ) is a village in the Oblast Kardzhali in southern Bulgaria. The village has 685 inhabitants Kirkowo (1 January 2007 ) and is the administrative center of the homonymous municipality Kirkowo, which has an area of 2.964 km ². The village lies at an altitude Kirkowo 300-499 meters above sea level, 11 km north of the border with Greece. The former Turkish name of the village was Kirkova what " 40 levels " means. Kirkowo does not have a mayor, but reports directly to the mayor of the municipality Kirkowo.
