Klepp IL

Klepp Idrettslag (short: Klepp IL ) is a football club from Klepp (Norway). The first women's football team plays in the Norwegian league 's top series.

History

Klepp IL was founded on 1 October 1919. The women's soccer team in 1987 was a founding member of Topp series and became its first Master. The Double, however, was missed. In the cup final they lost Sprint / Jeløy SK 2-1. Two years later they again reached the Cup final and beat Trondheim -Ørn SK 2-1. It was the last title for the club. In the nineties, the club slipped and had to repeatedly fight to avoid relegation. 1996 and 1997 reached Klepp IL again the cup final. Both times had to be Trondheims- Ørn SK defeated (1996 3-0 1997 even with 6:1). After an interim high in the late nineties, the club slipped back from midfield. 2006 it was only second to last, the worst result in the Topp series ever. Since the league was increased had the team in the relegation and managed to still avoid relegation.

The men's team Klepp IL plays in the third division. The game is played in " Klepp stadium". The club colors are green and white.
