Kolová

Kolová ( German Kohlhau, formerly Kohlau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south of Karlovy Vary and Karlovy Vary belongs to Okres.

Geography

Kolová located creek at the edge of the Imperial Forest on a hill in the headwaters of Cínový. To the northeast lies the Airport Karlovy Vary, west of the reservoir Stanovice. On the northern outskirts of the village there is the pond Kolovák. South of Haje is a golf course.

Neighboring towns are Karlovy Vary, Na Rybnice, Hůrky and Olšová Vrata in the north, Andělská Hora in the northeast, Telenec and Pila to the east, Dolni Dražov and Nové Stanovice in the south, Stanovice the southwest, Haje in the west and Březova in the northwest.

History

1622 was the first mention of belonging to Funkenstein wasteland Kohlhau. The Berni rula 1654 reported a sojourner for the charcoal burners' camp. Kohlhau 1713, which consisted of four property was to their own village community with a mayor.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kohlau / Kohlava formed in 1850 a part of the community Schneidmühl / Pila in the district of Karlovy Vary. 1873 was the community Kohlhau. In 1900, the community consisted of 103 houses and had 728 inhabitants, of whom belonged all the German ethnic group except for a Czechs. In 1923, the Czech name of the village in Kolava was changed. As a result of the Munich Agreement in 1938 Kohlhau annexed to the German Reich and initially assigned to the district of Karlovy Vary. The Czech residents were forcibly resettled. On May 1, 1939, the annexation was to Karlovy Vary. By 1945, the Kohlhau was part of the urban district of Karlovy Vary and came to the end of the Second World War back to Czechoslovakia. After the war, the incorporation has been lifted. As of 1945, the first expulsion of most Germans. The new settlers came from Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia. Among them were some who do not manage the farms, but only plundered. Overall, many farms remained uninhabited, fell into disrepair and were eventually demolished. In 1950, in Kolová a state property with an emphasis on animal production. This built a complex of cow and pig pens. For the employees of the goods a plate block was built in 1964.

During the construction of the dam Stanovice place in 1973 the demolition of the pig breeding facility and the other livestock was significantly reduced. In 1974, the nature reserve PLA Slavkovský was established, which includes most of the corridors of the community. From 1946 to 1960 Kolová belonged to Okres Karlovy Vary - okolí and since 1961 back to Okres Karlovy Vary. In 1976, the incorporation of Pila, which is independent again since 2000.

The district Kolová consists of 220 houses and has about 600 inhabitants.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Kolová Haje, 1945 Funkštejn ( Funkenstein ) and Kolová ( Kohlhau ), which also form Katastralbezirke.

Attractions

  • Chapel of St.. Anna, built in 1873. 1930 was rebuilt.
  • Remains of the castle Funkštein ( Funkenstein ) on the Zámecký vrch ( Schlossberg ), west of the community above the valley of the brook Lomnický creek. It was built in the 12th century and was a small Wachtenburg of border fortification system of Přemyslids.
