Konstantin Pavlov

Konstantin Pavlov ( born April 2, 1933 Witoschko, in the church today Pernik, Pernik Oblast, † 28 September 2008 in Sofia) was a Bulgarian screenwriter, author and poet. During the Bulgarian communist period was Pavlov came to prominence as an intellectual. He was affected by the censorship and the government forbade him to publish his work for ten years.

Life and work

Pavlov began his work in 1966. Bulgarians bought during the ban and censorship his works and read his poems.

He has received numerous awards for his work in the literature and for his poems. In 1980 he was allowed to shoot for the big prize for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival for his script a film. Many of his works were translated into many European languages.

Among his most famous works and poems, including Sweet Agony, which was released in 1991. More titles were The Murder of the Sleeping Man ( 1992); and A Long Time Ago ... (1998).
