Koren Jelela

Jelela Koren ( Koren Yal Jelela; born January 18, 1987 in Shewa ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner.

At the World Cross Country Championships she came in 2007 in Mombasa on place 19, 2008 in Edinburgh at number 14 and 2009 in Amman on 30th place

In 2009 she was at her debut on the 42,195 - km - distance second in the Venice Marathon and wins after the Great Ethiopian Run. The following year she finished ninth at the RAK Half Marathon, Twelfth Boston Marathon and fourth at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

In 2011 she presented at the Mumbai Marathon with 2:26:56 h a course record. A third place in the Paris Marathon was followed by a victory at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon.
