The Köttelbeck (also:. Kötelbeck niederdt, " droppings " = feces, filth ) is a 5.5 km long Heidebach in the southern Lüneburg Heath. It rises in a small swamp east of the road from stone Horst to Räderloh in Gifhorn, flows west and empties on the southern edge of Bargfeld in the district of Celle from the left ( east) onto Lutter.
In the story Caliban on Setebos of Arno Schmidt she is portrayed as a symbolic body of water that exceeds the narrator on his way to Hades.
