Kretinga District Municipality
The Rajongemeinde Kretinga ( Kretingos rajono savivaldybė ) is one of the 60 self-governing communities, the second- highest level of administrative divisions of Lithuania. It is only the narrow area of the spa resort of Palanga municipality separated from the sea near the Baltic Sea coast north of the port city of Klaipeda and has 45 964 inhabitants in an area of 989 km ².
After her parish seat named, it includes the two cities Kretinga ( 21,460 inhabitants) and Salantai (1767 inhabitants), the two towns ( miesteliai ) Darbėnai and Kartena, and 196 villages.
