Kristian Widmer

Kristian Widmer ( born October 26, 1967) is a Swiss film and television producer.

Biography

Kristian Widmer is a lawyer and holds an MBA from University of St. Gallen. He worked as a freelance editor already while studying law at the University of Zurich. In 1993 he produced with " XC Cross Country" a TV documentary about a world record attempt in the then fashionable sport paragliding. He then worked for the Vega Film and from 1994 for the Condor Films AG. For this, he was responsible from 1996 as a production manager and later as executive producer filming in Europe, South America, USA and Australia among others with Dani Levy, Michael Ballhaus and Xavier Koller and John Malkovich. As a producer, he was responsible for the multi-award- winning documentary Building The Gherkin. In 2003 he produced for ZDF German feature film three against Troy and 2004 with co-producer Dominik Kaiser persiflage The Ring Thing, a Swiss low-budget parody of the U.S. film The Lord of the Rings. 1999 Kristian Widmer was appointed to the management of Condor Films and appointed in 2001 as Managing Director. He was appointed as the initiator of an MBO fellow shareholder and 2008 the main shareholder of the company in 2005.
