Kristianstad County

Kristianstad County was a Swedish province ( län). She lay mostly in northeast Skåne. The residence of the province was Kristianstad and the Länsbuchstabe "L".

Geography

In the north of the province of Halland County Kronoberg County and bordered to the east it was County of Blekinge and the Baltic Sea bounded, which constituted the southern border. In the southwest Malmo longer formed the border and west of the Kattegat. The province had in 1911 an area of ​​6445 km ². History

After the conquest by Sweden Skåne in 1669 the province was formed for the first time. Already in 1680 it was merged with Malmo County to form a common government, but which was again dissolved in 1719. Since this year there were no administrative boundary changes more in relation to other provinces. 1997 Kristianstad County, Malmo were longer merged again to the common province Skåne County.
