Kumphawapi District

Amphoe Kumphawapi ( Thai อำเภอ กุมภวาปี ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Udon Thani. The Udon Thani Province is located in the northwestern part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan.

Geography

Neighbouring districts ( from the southwest clockwise): Amphoe the Non Sa -at Nong Saeng, Mueang Udon Thani, Prachaksinlapakhom, Ku Kaeo and Si That in the province of Udon Thani, Amphoe Tha Khantho the province of Kalasin, Amphoe Kranuan and the province of Khon Kaen.

History

Mueang Kumphawapi was one of the original four districts of Udon Thani, from which 1908 in derThesaphiban management reform Amphoe were made.

Management

Amphoe Kumphawapi is divided into 13 communes ( tambon), which in turn in 175 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are ten small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

• Kumphawapi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กุมภวาปี ), consisting of parts of the tambon Kumphawapi,
• Mueang Soon ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เมือง ใหม่ ), consisting of other parts of the tambon Kumphawapi.
• Phan Don ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พัน ดอน ), consisting of parts of the tambon Phan Don,
• Kong Phan Phan Don ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ก ง พาน พัน ดอน ), consisting of the other parts of tambon Phan Don,
• Huai Koeng ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย เกิ้ง ), consisting of the entire Tambon Huai Koeng,
• Pakho ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ปะ โค ), consisting of the whole tambon Pakho,
• Wiang Kham ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เวียง คำ ), consisting of the entire Tambon Wiang Kham
• Chiang Wae ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เชียง แหว ), consisting of the whole tambon Chiang Waem,
• Nong Wa ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง หว้า ), consisting of the whole tambon Nong Wa,
• Si O ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สี ออ ), consisting of the whole tambon Si O

There are also 12 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
