Kranuan District

Amphoe Kranuan ( Thai: อำเภอ กระนวน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Khon Kaen. The Khon Kaen Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): the Amphoe Sam Sung and Nam Phong in the province of Khon Kaen, the Amphoe Non Sa -at and Kumphawapi in Udon Thani province, the Amphoe Tha Khantho, Nong Kung Si and Huai Mek in the province Kalasin and Amphoe Chom Chuen in the province Maha Sarakham.

History

Kranuan was established by Amphoe Nam Phong was separated from on 1 January 1948 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ). On July 22, 1958 Kranuan was promoted to Amphoe.

Administrative units

Amphoe Kranuan is ( tambon) divided into nine municipalities, which in turn in 81 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are four small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Nong Ko ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง โก ) consists of parts of the tambon Nong Ko,
  • Huai Yang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย ยาง ) consists of the whole Tambon Huai Yang,
  • Nong No ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง โน ) consists of the whole tambon Nong No,
  • Om Nam ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล น้ำ อ้อม ) consists of the whole tambon Nam Om.

There are also six administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
