Kurt Rosenwinkel

Peter Kurt Rosenwinkel ( born October 28, 1970 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American jazz guitarist.

After studying at the Berklee School of Music in 1992, he was with Gary Burton on tour. He then moved to New York City, where he played with Paul Motian Electric Bebop band ( from 1992), Joe Henderson, Brian Blade Fellowship, Tim Hagans, Seamus Blake, Perico Sambeat or Jochen Rückert. In his own group playing musicians such as Mark Turner, Brad Mehldau or Joshua Redman. In 2013 he played a solo concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival; also he has performed with Eric Clapton and the hr-Bigband.

Since March 2004, Rosenwinkel has taught at the jazz department of the Hochschule Luzern - Musik; in the winter semester 2007/ 08 he was appointed professor of guitar / ensemble conducting at the Jazz Institute Berlin.
