The Kysuca ( German very rare Kischütz ) is a 66-km long right tributary of the Waag in the NW Slovakia. The name of the historical region Kysuca is derived from the name of the river.

The river rises in the mountains near Javorníky Makov and extends eastward to Turzovka and Čadca. Shortly after Čadca the course of changes in a southerly direction and leads over Krasno nad Kysucou and Kysucké Nové Mesto its mouth near Žilina near the castle Budatín.
