La Ferté-Saint-Aubin

La Ferte-Saint -Aubin is a commune with 7144 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Loiret in the Centre region. It belongs to the district of Orléans and the Canton of La Ferté -Saint -Aubin.

La Ferte-Saint -Aubin consists of the two places and La Ferté Saint -Aubin, both together form a Unité urbaine, as they are grown together. At the same time La Ferté -Aubin is the geographically largest commune in the department of Loiret. The municipality had in the past repeatedly the name of the owner of the castle, so La Ferté- Nabert, La Ferte -St- Nectaire, La Ferté- Senneterre or La Ferte- Lowendal. During the Revolution it was called La Ferté -Cosson after the river Cosson, where the spot is.
