La Grée-Saint-Laurent

La Grée -Saint -Laurent ( Breton: Ar C'hrav -Sant - Laorañs, Gallo: La Graéy - Saent - Laurantz ) is a commune with 330 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pays de Josselin.

Geography

La Grée -Saint -Laurent is located in the northeast of the department of Morbihan and belongs to the Pays de Josselin.

Neighboring municipalities are Les Forges in the north, Saint- Malo -des- Trois -Fontaines in the east, Helléan the southeast, La Croix- Helléan in the south and Lanouée the southwest and west.

The village itself is just on a side street. The regional road link D16 of Josselin by Mauron passes near the village. The most important national connection is the N 24, which runs about ten miles south of La Grée -Saint- Laurent. The closest connection to this is north of Josselin.

The most important river waters are the Ninian and the Bach Galourais. This partially form the boundary of the municipality. In addition, there are some small ponds in the municipality. Only a small part of the community area is covered by forests.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro -Sant Malou (French Pays de Saint- Malo ) and within this region to region Porc'hoed (French Porhoët ) and shares his story. From 1801 until its dissolution on 10 September 1926, she was part of the arrondissement Ploërmel. From 1793 to 1801 La Grée -Saint -Laurent belonged to the Canton Lanouée.
