Ladislav Šmíd

Ladislav Šmíd ( born February 1, 1986 in Frýdlant v Čechách, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey player who stands since November 2013 in the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

The 1.88 m tall defender started his career with the White Tigers Liberec in the Czech Extraliga before being selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 as ninth in the first round by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim ( drafted ) was.

Internationally

Ladislav Šmíd previously took part in seven world championships. For the Czech U18 selection he graduated from the U18 World Cup in 2003 and 2004 ( winning the bronze medal ). In the same year he also took part in the U20 World Cup as a 18- year-old. Further deployments in U20 junior team in the Czech Republic he had called in 2005 ( winning the bronze medal ) and 2006. For the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men 2007, he was the first time U20 World Championships in the Czech national ice hockey team, but could not in six World Cup matches achieve point scorer.
