Lagdo Reservoir

The Lagdo - Reservoir is a reservoir in Cameroon ( Northern Province ).

The 308 m long and 40 m high dam on the Benue River, about 50 km south of Garoua located, from 1977 to 1982 with Chinese assistance (China International Water & Electric Corp.). Was built to supply North Cameroon with electricity. The lake covers an area of 586 km ², of which the largest part in the department of Mayo -Rey, a smaller portion including the weirs in the department Benoué. Most important tributaries are Mayo Godi, Mayo Rey and Mayo Oldiri. At the dam is the place Lagdo, near the lake at the Mayo Rey Rey Bouba the city.
