Lago del Sambuco

The 1461 m asl high-altitude Lago del Sambuco is an artificial lake in the Swiss canton of Ticino. It is situated above the village of Fusio at the end of the Val Lavizzara ( Lavizzara valley, side valley of the Maggia ). The 1956 scale reservoir is dammed by a 130 m high arch dam, measuring 110 m at its deepest point, has a capacity of 63 million cubic meters and covers an area of 1.11 square kilometers of water.
