The Wygosero (Russian Выгозеро, Выгозерское водохранилище, Wygoserskoje Reservoir, Бобровое, Bobrowoje, Finnish Uikujärvi ) is a freshwater lake in the north of the Lake Onega in the Russian Republic of Karelia. With an area of ​​about 1,250 km ² it is one of the largest lakes in Europe. The catchment area covers about 18,000 km ². It includes 529 islands. In the rivers flow into Lake Superior Wyg, Woschma, Segescha and Onda. The mean depth of the Wygosero is only 6 m, the maximum depth of 18 m. The largest city on the lake is Segescha.

Since 1933, the Wygosero is part of the White Sea - Baltic Canal. From this point, it is used as a reservoir. The water level has been raised by several meters artificially what the flooding of large areas with the result and the lake was significantly greater ( original lake area 560 km ²). Early 1950s was built Ondskoje the hydroelectric power plant on the lower reaches of Onda. This is fed by the waters of the Wygosero which 7 km effluent on the White Sea - Baltic Canal meets.

The variety of organic material that came into the lake, its ecology changed significantly. Among the fish species that live in Wygosero today include Atlantic salmon, whitefish, pike and others.
