Lamarck (crater)

Lamarck is an impact crater on the western limb of the Moon front, south of the crater Darwin and northwest of Byrgius. The irregularly shaped crater is extremely eroded and barely visible in the uneven railing around.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the French biologist Jean -Baptiste de Lamarck.
