Lăpușna, Hîncești

Lapusna (Russian Лапушна ) is a market town in Rajon Hînceşti in Moldova. The village lies in the valley of the river Lăpuşniţa, a left tributary of the Prut River, about 18 km north- west of Hînceşti and 54 km south-west of Chisinau. It is surrounded by agricultural land. The current Prime Minister of Moldova, Vlad Filat was born in Lapusna 1969.

History

The place Lapusna in 1429, the first mentioned in a document of Alexandru cel Bun. Due to its location on a trade route between Poland and Transylvania on the one hand and the Black Sea on the other hand, the place had a checkered history as a military base, the administrative center and commercial center. In the 16th century a court has been set up. The place is considered the birthplace of Alexandru Lapusneanu. The church is dedicated to the Archangels Gabriel and Michael and includes stylistic elements from the 15th and 16th centuries. The original wooden church was rebuilt in 1814-1818, a building of stone and consecrated by Metropolitan Gavriil Banulescu -Bodoni.

Based on archaeological excavations could be proved that ( 2nd millennium BC) were human at the site of the village Lapusna and Rusca settlements since the Bronze Age. On the grounds of Lapusna and villages Rusca and Anini numerous necropolises were discovered that refer to the culture of the local Getae ( 4th and 3rd centuries BC). For the years 1430-1431, there is a princely deed in which the flow of Lapusna as well as several villages on its banks is the question. The name Lapusna immersed in Documents on from the first decades of the 15th century and renames it several different topographic objects: the river Lapusna (10 April 1439), the market Lapusna (25 April 1454), the district ( ţinut ) Lapusna ( April 10, 1439 ). Lapusna there was a market in the 14th century, mentioned in a document it is, however, only in the first half of the 15th century. In the open letter of August 25, 1454 granted prince Petru Aron the monastery Moldoviţa the privilege of duty-free access for its three cars in which they were traveling in the country to buy on the Danube, the Dniester or other aquatic fish you neither in Târgu Frumos still had to pay duty on the Polish market or in Lapusna. On June 29, 1456, the same prince permitted the lipowanischen dealers to pay in Lapusna only 30 pence for 12 scales with goods that were meant for the Tatar territories, and there also to pay duty of Cetatea Albă for the goods which are not the way took over that market.

At the census in 2004 5640 inhabitants were counted in Lapusna, of whom 2747 men and 2893 women.
