Lars Anders Tomter

Lars Anders Tomter (* 1959 in Hamar, Norway) is a Norwegian violist and winners of international competitions.

Biography

Tomter studied in Oslo in Leif Joergensen, then at Max Sandor Vegh and Rostal in Bern. Internationally, he often played with Det Norwegian Chamber, but also as a soloist with orchestras of international standing. He is head of the Riser Chamber Music Festival and frequent guest at international chamber music festivals such as the Moritzburg Festival in Germany. As a teacher, he taught at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, but also had guest professorships in Berlin, Gothenburg, Copenhagen and international master classes, such as the Verbier Festival. Numerous CD recordings document him as a soloist and chamber musician. Tomter was awarded the 2010 St. Olav's Medal. He plays an instrument by Gasparo da Salò of 1590th
