Lasus of Hermione

Lazos from Hermione (c. 548 BC) was a lyricist and music theorist at the court of Hipparchus in the 6th century BC He counts in some lists of the seven sages of antiquity.

He stepped out on several occasions - he pointed to the Onomakritos oracle Forgery ( Herodotus 7.6 ) - but its main importance lies in the musical field. Of course, the knowledge of remains limited despite recent hypotheses on the mere fact of its activities. According to Suda, he wrote the first of the Music, practically, he distinguished himself as a poet of hymns and especially of dithyramb, in their development to the shape of Agon he helped much.
