Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny ( born September 10, 1985 in Tulle ) is a French football player of Polish descent who is under contract with the English first division club FC Arsenal since the 2010/11 season. He has, in addition to the French and Polish citizenship.

Career

Clubs

Koscielny began his professional career in 2004 as a defender when Erstligaabsteiger EA Guingamp. 2007/ 08 he moved to third division relegated FC Tours, with whom he rose after a season right back and was chosen by the UNPF in the Top Eleven of the second league in May 2009.

For the season 2009/10 he undertook the first division side FC Lorient, where he signed a four-year contract on 16 June 2009.

His Erstligadebüt gave Koscielny on 9 August 2009 ( 1st Round ) 2-1 win in the away game against Lille OSC; the first of his three league goals was to make the score 2-2 draw in the 90th minute in the home game against Montpellier HSC 15 August 2009 (2nd Round ). After 35 of 38 league games Koscielny moved for 9.7 million pounds for Arsenal.

His first competitive match for Arsenal he played 15 August 2010 (1st Round ) in the 1-1 Unentschiden in the away game against Liverpool. His debut ended in the fifth minute of stoppage time - with his suspension from the course due to the red card. His first league goal he succeeded on 11 September 2010 ( 4th Round ) in a 4-1 victory at home to Bolton Wanderers with the results for the interim 1-0 in the 24th minute. On November 30, 2013 Koscielny played his 100th Premier League game for Arsenal.

National

In February 2011, appointed France coach Laurent Blanc Koscielny likely to play for Poland because of its ancestors for the first time in the national team for the Test match against the selection of Brazil, in which he, however, was not used. He made his debut on November 11, 2011 in Paris, as he stood in the starting XI in a 1-0 win over the selection of the United States.
