Le Mée-sur-Seine
Le MÃ © -sur -Seine is a commune with 20 693 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Seine- et- Marne in the Île- de -France region; it belongs to the district Melun and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the Canton of Le MÃ © -sur -Seine.
Geography
Le MÃ © -sur -Seine is located about 2.5 km west-northwest of Melun on the River Seine. On the opposite bank of the Seine, in the south, lies the community Dammarie -les -Lys. To the northwest Vert -Saint -Denis is located. To the west lies Boissise -le- Bertrand and southwest Boissettes. Paris located 41 kilometers north- west of Le MÃ © -sur -Seine.
Le MÃ © -sur -Seine is divided into their own quarters Le MÃ © e Village, La Croix Blanche, Plein Ciel, Les Courtilleraies -Gare and Les Courtilleraies - Circé.
History
For Christ's birth should have settled the senones. In 1225 the place is mentioned as Mas. The first church was not built until 1771, however.
