Le Monde diplomatique
Which appears in France and several other countries in different language editions monthly newspaper Le Monde diplomatique (referred to by its French readers as " Le Diplo " ) publishes detailed analysis and commentary on international politics and cultural issues.
French edition
The first issue appeared in May 1954 with the headline " Old Diplomacy - New Diplomacy ". It now has a circulation of around 300,000 copies. 38 editions in 16 other languages (26 including online spending ) lead to a total circulation of about 2.2 million around the world.
Le Monde Diplomatique owned 49 % by the association L'association des Amis du Monde Diplomatique, whose members mostly are also readers of the newspaper. The remaining 51 % is owned by the French newspaper Le Monde. The independence of the publication is to be maintained by limiting the ads and the capital participation from the audience.
The paper takes a critical attitude towards the economic liberalism and globalization and represents a position in the left spectrum. An editorial from the year 1997, which criticized the deregulation of financial markets, written by the editor Ignacio Ramonet, led to the creation of ATTAC, a nongovernmental organization that, among other things, the introduction of a Tobin tax (also: FTT ) fights. The journal is therefore also referred to as the " fight sheet" or " central organ " -globalization circles.
More Releases
Every two months, published in French magazine ' Manière de voir ". The series, begun in 1987, consists of special issues, mostly with already published articles. The similar German -speaking semi-annual series " Edition" has been published since 2007, but contains a greater proportion of new texts.

2013 was the meat Atlas - published data and facts about animals as food in cooperation with the BUND and the Heinrich Böll Foundation. The meat Atlas clarifies on the consumption of meat based on data and facts. The text and graphics contained in the flesh Atlas are released under the Creative Commons license ( CC -BY -SA ). 2014, the Atlas will also appear in English.
Expenditure by languages
The first non- French-speaking spending translated exclusively French contributions; as it still do today most of the issues that appear as a supplement to a daily or weekly newspaper. Where Le Monde diplomatique, however, also appears as a separate newspaper, control the editorial offices at their own contributions, which are designated as such.
