Lebanese Democratic Party

The Lebanese Democratic Party ( Parti démocratique libanais French, Arabic الحزب الديمقراطي اللبناني al - Hizb al- dimuqrati al - lubnani ) is a political party in Lebanon, which was founded in 2001 by Prince Talal Arslan the Druze. Prince Talal is the son of Druze leader L' Emir Magid Arslan and sits in front of his party.

The Lebanese Democratic Party is committed to the policy of resistance, ecology and nonviolence. It is officially secular and has members from all Lebanese confessions, most of their support comes but of drusen, which support the Arslan family. The party is a member of the Alliance of March 8, is now part of the block change and reform.

History

The party has been represented since its inception in the Lebanese parliament, most recently, she was re-elected in the 2005 elections and in the 2009 elections. Prince Talal Arslan won a seat in Parliament, representing the Aley district, and three others won seats for the Babda district.

The rival Druze party was previously the Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt of. In July 2011, Prince Talal appointed his brother -in-law Marwan Kheireddine Minister of State to represent himself and his family in the newly formed government.
