Talal Arslan

Talal Arslan Talal Arslan Arab طلال أرسلان, ( born June 12, 1965 in Choueifat, Lebanon ) is a Lebanese politician and leader of the mostly Druze Lebanese Democratic Party. He is also the son of the famous politician Majid Arslan Arslan also head of the family, who claim to be descendants of the Lakhmids.

Arslan resides in Chaldeh Palace, or "Dar Khaldeh ", situated in Khalde at his birthplace of Choueifat. By his supporters, he is also called " al - damaneh " (Arabic الضمانة ), eg "the guarantor " called.

He was from 1991 until the elections in 2005 Member of the Lebanese Parliament for the district of Aley. In 2009 he was re-elected as Druze. In 2001 he founded the Lebanese Democratic Party, which is part of the pro-Syrian March 8 alliance today. At the same time he held a number of ministerial positions since the end of the civil war.
