Ledeč nad Sázavou

In the city Ledeč nad Sázavou ( German Ledetsch, also Furwitz older ) living on 2211 acres of 6410 inhabitants. The city is located in the Highlands Region, Czech Republic.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from the 12th century. It is reported from the rule of Sigmund of Ledeč. During the time of the Hussites was the town supporters of the Calixtins. The former masters of the city signed a letter of complaint against the burning of Jan Hus. Because of the participation of the farmers Trček of Lipa in the conspiracy of Wallenstein 1634, the lands were confiscated and divided. Ledeč received the officer of Adrian Enkevort. On him the gender tuna and Věžníkov follow. 1753 bought the Empress Maria Theresa, the city of Ignaz von Koch. She built on the eponymous castle a Grosshof for impoverished aristocrats. In 1918 the state took over the administration.
