Leeton Shire

Leeton is located in the south of the state on the Murrumbidgee River about 370 km west of the Australian capital Canberra and 580 km west of the city of Sydney. The area includes 36 districts and towns, including Amesbury, Corbie Hill, Fivebough, Gogeldrie, Gralee, Leeton, Leeton North, Merungle Hill, Murrami, Park View, Stanbridge, Stoney Point, Wamoon, Wattle Hill, Willimbong, Yanco and part of Whitton. The seat of the Shire Council is located in the east of Leeton LGA where about 6,800 inhabitants.

Management

The Leeton Shire Council has nine members, who are elected by the residents of three wards (three Councillor of A, B and C. Ward). These three districts are set independently of the villages. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
