Lekhnath

Lekhnath ( Nepali: लेखनाथ नगरपालिका ) is a city in Pokharatal in the central Nepal, about 7 km southeast of Pokhara; the two urban areas are contiguous. The city developed as a suburb of Pokhara and has no center formed.

Lekhnath is after a famous Nepali poet Lekh Nath Paudyal (1885-1966), named, who was born in a suburb of present-day Lekhnath, Arghaun Archale. In the urban area there are seven lakes: Begnas, Rupa, Khaste, Depang, Maidi, Neureni and Gunde, with the smaller ones are largely silted up.
