The Lenox Township is one of 15 townships in Warren County in the western part of the U.S. state of Illinois.
The township was established on November 8, 1853; the administration was set up on 4th April 1854.
Geography
The Township is located at 40 ° 51 ' 12 " north latitude and 90 ° 36' 53 " west longitude and extends over 94.3 km ², which consist exclusively of land area.
The Lenox Township closes immediately to the south of on the territory of the town of Monmouth, where is the county seat of Warren County.
The Township is located 37 km east of the Mississippi River, which forms the border between Illinois and Iowa.
Traffic
The U.S. Highway 67 leads in a north-south direction through the Lenox Township. In the north- west of the township crosses U.S. Highway 34
Due to the Township takes place in northeast -southwest direction, a railway line of the BNSF Railway, which runs from Chicago to the west and southwest. On the route also operate passenger trains from Amtrak.
