Leominster

Leominster [ lɛmstə ] (Welsh Llanllieni ) is an English small town market rights in the West Midlands. It lies on the River Lugg in the County of Herefordshire and has about 11,000 inhabitants.

Name

The name Leominster perhaps goes back to a Munster (English minster ) in an administrative district called Lene or Leon; According to a website Leominsters the place name is derived from the count but Leofric, the husband of the legendary Lady Godiva in the 11th century.
