Les Tambours du Bronx

History

The Tambours du Bronx were founded in 1987 in Varennes- Vauzelles, a neighboring town of Nevers in the department of Nièvre. Your name is derived from a quarter in Varennes- Vauzelles that the nickname " Le Bronx " bears due to the straight road grid and the identical gray and dreary rows of houses. This district is inhabited mostly by the steel workers of the local SNCF station ( staatl.französische railway company ), can be found there, the first barrels of the group.

Between 1990 and 2006 she appeared in concerts in many European countries, the USA and Djibouti. They were among other guests at the following festivals: Roskilde, Woodstage Summer Open Air, Sziget, Wacken Open Air and the Braunschweig Classix Festival.

New barrels are supplied painted or sprayed from the group. A drum is played two concerts in length and given away after the second concert at the audience per musician.

The corresponding mallets are made ​​of beech wood, with a length of 40 cm and a diameter of 3 cm. A musician breaks about two pairs per concert. In the early days of the TDB disused hoe handles were used, now the mallets are supplied in pallets.

Electronic sounds triggered among other things by beating the metal tubes on the legs, completed the sound since the mid- 90s. Prior to the concerts were completed purely acoustic of an up to 25 -man stage cast. The current set list always includes a few purely acoustic " drums - pieces ". It sometimes happens that the group is only acoustically 20 minutes, as opposed to the entire set list that exceeds one and a half hours.

On the 2003 album to published STEREO REMIXES STRESS the group experimented with other genres, but to never leave without their industrial roots except eight (altered wall of sound, and the melodies of different instruments). Since that time, an additional dedicated musician, a DJ on stage the electronic samples and sounds.
