Letanovce

Letanovce ( German Latvian village - even older bed Ensdorf, Hungarian Letánfalva - to 1907 Letánfalu ) is a town in eastern Slovakia, with 2177 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It is located in Okres Ves, a circle of higher administrative unit Košice kraj.

Geography

Letanovce lies in the basin Hornádska kotlina the creek BRUSNIK, on the other streams flow to the municipality before it opens at Ves in the Hornád, the south of the village in the so-called Prielom Hornádu ( breakthrough of Hornád ) in the Slovak Paradise flows here. In addition to these mountains and the Tatra Mountains to the northwest is clearly visible. The city center is 12 kilometers from Ves and 16 kilometers from Poprad.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1250 as Lethon writing. The main sources of income of the population were forestry and agriculture.
