Lhota pod Libčany

Lhota pod Libčany ( German Lhota under Love Chan) is a municipality with 776 inhabitants in Okres Hradec Králové, Czech Republic.

Location

It is eleven kilometers south-west of Hradec Králové, in 239 m above sea level. M. The village is located on the railway line Hradec Králové nad - Chlumec Cidlinou and has a breakpoint.

History

The village road is probably a Benedictine monastery Opatowitz during colonization of Bohemia. Up to the destruction of the monastery by the Hussites in 1421 it belonged to the monastic possessions, to Divis Bořek z Miletínka appropriated. From his son acquired it in 1464 Duke Henry I of Münsterberg. Next owners were from 1491 Pernštejnové and 1560 the Habsburgs, who sold the village in 1589 to the rule Libčany.

1774 opened in the village of a two-class private school 1870, it was replaced by the village school and in 1906 moved into a new school building. 1908, the church was built and in 1911 received the place electricity.

In the village there is an octagonal wooden storage shot from the year 1775.

  • The brothers František (1796-1849) and Václav Veverka (1799-1849) completed 1827 of them constructed steeply applied for fall plow in the local smithy in its final form.
