Geography

Light Born is located in the countryside Islek, west of the Eifel, a few kilometers east of the border with Luxembourg. North of the village rises to 569 m above sea level. NN the light Höhe with a panoramic view over large parts of the landscape.

History

The current capital Lichtenborn was first documented in 1330 as "light- wide ," which translates roughly as " deforested area " is. By the end of the 18th century Lichtenborn and Stalbach belonged to the condominium Pronsfeld, Kopscheid to rule New Castle in the Duchy of Luxembourg.
